Rev. Philip E. Dobson, S.J. was born in New York City September 13, 1909 and entered the Society of Jesus on September 8, 1929.
He studies philosophy at Woodstock and his regency was spent in New York and Brooklyn in Labor Institute Work. He was ordained to the Priesthood at Woodstock June 21, 1942 and made his Tertianship at Auriesville.
In 1946, Father Dobson founded the Saint Peter's Institute of Industrial Relations in Jersey City and was Director until his appointment as President of Canisius University on July 31, 1952.
