The Building

The current library building was built in 1957-58.

  • It was rededicated to Father Bouwhuis in 1968.
  • The building was expanded in 1987-88.
  • It underwent major renovations in 2001, 2009, 2014, and 2016.
  • Tim Horton's was added to the library in 2009.

The library has three floors and is 94,000 square feet.

The upper floor is a silent study space. If it gets noisy, students send a text that all library staff receive to ensure the issue is addressed promptly.

There are 867 seats in the library.

There are 13 group study rooms spread throughout the three floors of the library.

The main and lower floor of the library have 40 PC computers, 9 Macs, and 2 Blooomberg terminals as well as 5 printers.

The Cura Personalis Corner, located on the main floor, provides a space for prayer and quiet contemplation.

The Library houses the Writing Center for students and faculty where they can get help with their writing projects.
