Rev. Peter F. Cusick, S.J. was born June 28, 1875 and entered the Society of Jesus July 30, 1895.
After completing his Philosophy course at Woodstock, he taught Chemistry at Holy Cross College for four years and then went to Innsbruck for his theology degree. For three years, he was Socius to the Master of Novices at Poughkeepsie and on May 31, 1917 was appointed Rector and Master of Novices at Poughkeepsie.
On July 16, 1923, Father Cusick was named Rector of Canisius University and held this office until 1929 when he was assigned to Woodstock as Treasurer. After a short time in this position he was named Director of the Shrine of the North American Martyrs at Auriesville.
During his administration as President of Canisius University, two wings were added to Old Main and the gymnasium was erected.
Father Cusick died in New York City on February 7, 1939.
