Great for background information - A collection of reference books (i.e. encyclopedias) available online. Includes the Encyclopedia of Religion, The New Catholic Enecylopedia, and more.

ReligionFacts-Just the Facts

Intrenet Sacred Texts Archive
The largest freely available archive of online books about religion, mythology, folklore and the esoteric on the Internet. The site is dedicated to religious tolerance and scholarship, and has the largest readership of any similar site on the web.

Religion and Philosophy Collection
The database where for beginning researchers in religion and philosophy should start. It contains articles on different religions and philosophies and their impact on our daily lives.
JSTOR
Great for multidisciplinary topics and historical research. Provides a historical perspective because coverage starts as early as the 1900s and extends up to 3-5 years prior to the current year.
Project MUSE
A trusted resource, it contains full-text scholarly articles and peer-reviewed books. Ebooks are available in PDF format, are searchable and retrievable to the chapter level. The search screen allows you to search for either books or articles and allows users to limit by language, research area, and resource type.
