Searching the library catalog: It's not here!

You checked the shelf and the book is not there, so now what?

First,  ask at the Circulation desk.  We will double check for you. The book may be mishelved or has not been shelved yet. 

Second, ask the librarian.  The librarians will help you locate another copy.  Canisius is part of a statewide consortium of academic libraries called ConnectNY.  If a ConnectNY library owns the book, you can request that it be sent here. 

Third, check if another library in Western New York owns the book.  If a local academic library has a copy, Canisius library can issue you an InfoPass.  With it you can check out the item from the owning library.

Finally, request the book through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).  We will request items from libraries outside of the region.  

All told, do not hesitate to ask if you have difficulty finding your books.
