While very helpful, citation generators are not always accurate. Changing style guidelines, mistyped entries, programming errors, or misinterpreted citation guidelines can all negatively impact the accuracy of a citation. Unique or complex sources can fall "outside the box" and may require an interpretation of a rule that a citation machine cannot do.
It is your responsibility to know the citation style requirements. A current, official style manual is your best friend - the library has them! Each style also has its own official website that can be consulted for reference.
You are responsible for the citation's accuracy. Follow-up with your instructor or come to the library if you want a critical eye to look over your references. We are here to help!
Many of the library's subscription databases (e.g., EBSCO, ProQuest) have the capacity to generate a citation. It will generate a citation in the format you choose.
Please remember that citations generated by scholarly databases can be incorrect. Always look over any generated citation and ensure it is in compliance with the style you are using for your assignment.
