Earth Day. Do you remember when...

We buried Moses the Griffalo under hundreds of thousands of sheets of discarded and wasted paper printed and collected in the Library during the week of Earth Day 2009. The project successfully illustrated the need for paper printing accountability and conservation on campus and resulted in the implementation of the current student printing policy.

The Past That Has Yet To Pass: Archives and The Belfast Project

The Canisius College Spring Archives Speaker Series is pleased to announce the Spring Presentation, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 2:30 pm.

Christine Anne George, JD, MSIS will present The Past That Has Yet to Pass: Archives and The Belfast Project. The Belfast Project captures the dark period of Northern Irish history known as “The Troubles.” Ms. George will discuss this oral history project conducted by Boston College…a project that has been in the news since May 2011 when US attorneys subpoenaed the College for oral history interview tapes, and began an ensuing legal battle that reaches to the Supreme Court. This past month, The Belfast Project has been back in the spotlight on both sides of the Atlantic with the death of Delours Price, whose oral history interview sparked debate on possession of the interviews, ramifications for the Northern Irish Peace Process, and the future of archival privilege and archives.
