Borrowing a Kindle
Kindle e-book readers are now available for Canisius College students, faculty and staff to borrow from the Library at the Circulation Desk on the main floor. A valid college ID card is required and a library record in good standing. Kindles have a loan period of 14 days and are non-renewable. Checkout of a Kindle includes the device itself, a protective cover, a two-part A/C-USB adapter cord, and a Quick Start booklet.
Reserving a Kindle
Readers are available on a first come first serve basis with no renewal. A request can be made through the library catalog or Kindle web page and the patron will be notified via email when a Kindle is available. It will then be held for you for 3 days at the Circulation Desk.
Returning a Kindle
Kindle Readers are returned to the Circulation Desk during operating hours. Please do not return via the book drop. Borrowers are responsible for loss, theft, or damage to the Kindle and accessories.
Fines and Fees
The overdue fine for Kindles is $10.00 per day.
Users will be assessed a fine equal to the replacement cost if the Kindle is lost, stolen or damaged. Replacement costs for the following will be:
Titles on the Kindles
The Library has selected a range of titles that are loaded on our Kindles. Each Kindle has the same titles available and the current list is on the website. An online form is available to suggest titles for adding to the Kindles.
