Political Database of the Americas is a non-governmental Internet-based project that provides reference materials, primary documents, comparative studies and statistical data for countries in the Western Hemisphere.

U.S. Census Bureau's mission is to gather and disseminate statistics and information on various aspects of life in the United States. It provides statistics on population, genealogy, geography, economy, people, foreign trade, poverty, housing, income, projections, plus much more. There is an A to Z Index to help narrow your search alphabetically.

www.censusscope.org - This site takes data from the US Census Bureau web site and makes it easier to use. The data is presented graphically (in charts, tables, maps, etc.) that are easy to print or use in other documents (with proper citation of course!). There are statistics from national, state, and local levels based on census data that goes back (on this web site) to 1960.

Project Vote Smart is a citizen's organization dedicated to serving all Americans with accurate and unbiased information for electoral decision-making. It provides a comprehensive database about thousands of candidates and elected officials for U.S. President, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Governors and State Legislators.

Cold War International History Project - disseminates new information and perspectives on the history of the Cold War, in particular new findings from previously inaccessible sources on "the other side" -- the former Communist world.

United Nations includes UN history and documents; a virtual tour; UN Councils, UN Member States, human rights and peace initiatives; publications, conferences and events.

Constitution Finder - includes the full text of constitutions, charters, and amendments of nations throughout the world. Most of the documents have been translated into English.
